Daily City Walks
FOR INDIVIDUAL VISITORS IN ENGLISH
WITH OUR FRIENDLY AND KNOWLEDGEABLE GUIDES
Dear Guest,
We are very glad that you have decided to spend a few days discovering our city. Krakow, the ancient residence of Polish Kings, city of numerous churches and synagogues, site of one of the oldest universities in Europe is a truly unique place, well worth a visit. The Old Town is almost entirely pedestrianised, making a walking tour the best way to visit the city centre.
We provide walking tours in English. Our tours are designed primarily for individual visitors and small groups.
"Krakow - Main Sights"
These two walking tours include the most interesting parts of the city:
Walk I:
Kazimierz - the best-preserved former Jewish quarter in Europe.
We will stroll from the Main Market Square down to Kazimierz. The tour begins with a Neo-Romanesquesynagogue called the Temple. Then across New Square - the former commercial centre of Kazimierz - we will pass by the Kupa Synagogue, the Isaac Synagogue, the Wysoka (High) Synagogue and the Stara (Old) Synagogue. Upon reaching Szeroka street, the heart of Kazimierz, we will admire the Remuh Synagogue - the final one on the tour - which is still in use. There is a unique 16th-century cemetery adjoining the synagogue.
Walk II:
The medieval Old Town, the Wawel Hill with its castle and cathedral.
We will start on the Main Market Square at the Cloth Hall, getting acquainted with the history and mystery behind one of the most beautiful squares in Europe. We will continue on to the old buildings of the Jagiellonian University, where Nicolas Copernicus and the legendary Dr Faustus both studied. Amongst these is Collegium Maius with its Gothic courtyard. Walking through All Saints' Square with its Gothic Dominican and Franciscan churches, we will stroll along the Royal Route to Wawel Hill, where in the arcaded courtyard of the castle we will hear about the history of this former residence of Polish kings and princes. Then on to Wawel Cathedral - the coronation church of the kings of Poland, which contains the royal tombs. On our way back to the Main Square for a coffee break, we will go down the charming Kanonicza Street and see St. Mary's Church with its famous altar designed by Veit Stoss.

The meeting point for Walk I (Kazimierz) and Walk II (Old Town) is in front of the Church of St. Adalbert (Church of St. Wojciech), Main Market Sq. Our guide will be holding up a yellow CITY TOUR identification poster.
